Limelight Networks (News - Alert), a provider of digital presence management, has released the next generation of its well-regarded Limelight Orchestrate digital presence platform. Now at version 2.5, the Orchestrate platform now features enhanced capabilities to help organizations better engage digital audiences through consistent high-performance digital experiences across channels, devices and geographies.
Orchestrate 2.5 also supports faster content delivery, while addressing the challenges presented by increased and erratic content consumption and the need to support a broad range of mobile devices. This latest release comes only a few months after Limelight Networks expanded its presence in India with a new point of presence in Mumbai.
“Our customers are assured superb delivery of their digital content on any device, anywhere in the world. We know that performance matters — and performance affects our customers' success,” said Robert Lento, CEO of Limelight Networks, in a statement. “With the Orchestrate V2.5 platform, we've accelerated content delivery resulting in an optimized total delivery experience.”
The majority of Orchestrate 2.5’s improvements are in the area of delivery experience. First up, the platform now features enhanced caching thanks to Orchestrate Content Delivery Service improvements, which provide added flexibility in caching settings, allowing customers to maximize cache-hit ratios. For website visitors, this equates to shorter wait times, faster downloads and less video buffering.
Next, the Orchestrate Performance Service offers end-to-end optimization enhancements, resulting in dynamic Web content getting to end users up to eight times faster, or between 40 and 65 percent faster than content delivery networks that don’t have this capability.
Enhancements to front end acceleration, meanwhile, offer reduced wait times and faster Web page loading for certain browsers. Finally, Zero-Time-to-Publish (ZTP) allows for playback to commence immediately after a file has been uploaded.
Orchestrate 2.5 also features network infrastructure improvements that allow it to provider improved scale, elasticity and availability.
