Sonian Central Archive Cloud-based E-mail Archiving Solution Available after Beta

Sonian, a specialist in cloud-powered e-mail archiving solutions, has completed its beta program launched for Central Archive, a cloud-based E-mail archiving solution. Sonian’s information archiving platform helps organizations with early stage discovery needs and achieving regulatory compliance.

Jack Dempsey, vice president of product management, Sonian said, “Sonian has maintained a long partnership with IBM (News - Alert) and Central Archive is a natural extension of that relationship. Now Domino users have a secure, affordable, scalable archive which offloads data from Domino servers, and makes it actionable.”

Central Archive, archiving solution will help users of the IBM Domino mail platform. Sonian will be offering this Domino mail archiving solution for general availability following the successful testing procedures.

Since E-mail communications have become ubiquitous, cloud archiving is expected to help manage it and also to preserve the intellectual property. Sonian’s fast and accurate search feature facilitates audit, discovery, investigation and litigation also.

To enable these features, Central Archive leverages an on-premise collector that is present on each Domino mail server. It also forwards copies of all inbound and outbound E-mail along with attachments to the Amazon cloud.

“Among the many pain points Sonian’s solution addresses is enabling Domino server administrators to alleviate on-premises mail storage burdens, including significant hardware and software expenditures and the costs and complexity associated with extensive discovery requests, particularly across large unstructured datasets,” Dempsey added.

Officials revealed that Sonian archives over 8 billion objects for about 12,000 customers in 40 countries. These cloud-based archives keep expanding at an average of 300 gigabytes each day. The solutions provided by Sonian are completely Web-based and platform agnostic.

In addition to being easy to deploy they facilitate secure, cost effective and scalable data preservation for companies. At no additional software or hardware cost and at reduced IT costs Sonian’s archiving services are compatible with all major E-mail platforms.

Recently Sonian launched its migration tool for Postini users to alleviate the many migration headaches caused by Postini’s (News - Alert) pending end of life. Sonian has developed a turnkey migration tool to easily move users messaging data into a Sonian cloud archive, making it searchable and therefore actionable.
