OMNIMAGO Selects Signiant Media Shuttle

OMNIMAGO GmbH, a provider of production, post-production, testing and restoration of film services, is using its Signiant’s Media Shuttle hybrid SaaS (News - Alert) file transfer solution to facilitate the transfer of full television series and feature films to its global customer base.

Media Shuttle allows OMNIMAGO to replace solutions that are ineffective for high-speed transfers and have limits on files sizes, and in turn OMNIMAGO saves money and time.

With super-simple user interfaces delivered from the cloud, enterprise-level security and scale, storage control and acceleration, Media Shuttle defines a new class of file sharing solution tuned for the movement of large, high-value digital assets that are tens to hundreds of gigabytes in size.

Equally powerful in large corporations or small project teams, Media Shuttle combines the simplicity of online file sharing with the power of accelerated file transfer and centralized, enterprise-class management to balance the needs of end users, operations and IT.

“Media Shuttle provides us with the ability to transfer large files quickly, in fact 20 times faster than in the past --using the same bandwidth connection, all with advanced and reliable delivery logging,” said Thomas Thoben, technical manager, OMNIMAGO, in a statement.

“Our operators are now capable of sending and receiving materials themselves; and the ability to log all transfers is very relevant. The aggregated logging information is useful in resource planning for future projects,” said Thoben.

Media Shuttle’s flexible licensing model and customizable portals also provide critical support for OMNIMAGO’s business needs.

“Media Shuttle’s subscription-based model is ideal for our production projects as we are able to scale our transfer portal as needed,” said Thoben.

“That offering aligns with our project-oriented business model, and our branded file sharing portal makes the user experience our own.”

Earlier this month, Signiant announced that Ireland’s Gaelic broadcaster TG4 has standardized on Media Shuttle for securely moving large files.  With its recent move to HD and an associated focus on implementing end-to-end file based workflows, TG4 decided it would not accept HD content deliveries on tape– making adoption of a robust file transfer solution a priority.

A thorough evaluation of file delivery products revealed Media Shuttle to be the fastest and most flexible approach for moving content between local post houses and production companies, with the added benefit of automating a key step in the broadcast workflow.
