Datamax-O'Neil Launches New Apex Portable Printers

For those of you who doubt that Apple (News - Alert) is taking over the world, consider industrial grade label and receipt printing solutions provider Datamax-O'Neil's newly launched version of its Apex portable printer series that can now be used with iOS 5.0 and 6.0 iPhones, iPads and iPod Touch devices.

According to Datamax's Senior Product Manager John Murphy, this move was made to address the increasing availability of Apple products in organizations that require a printing solution. The printer series will be most effective for technicians that need to print a report for a customer, while maintaining a copy to file with the main office.

The series offers two, three and four-inch printing capabilities and is highly reliable, easy to use and light weight.

The printers consist of a D-O Toolkit that will allow users to quickly implement them into their business environment. A scan module within the toolkit enables Apple devices to link with the Apex (News - Alert) i printer to provide information on numerous factors about the printer, such as battery voltage, timer, temperature and remaining print buffer. Other features include a configuration utility; a presentation module that has demos for printing recipes, forms, logos and barcodes; and an information module that consists of information about Datamax-O'Neil and the Toolkit.

"As more businesses look to enhance their 'customer's experience,' the ability to add convenience, reduce wait times, and provide greater efficiency is becoming essential to growing and retaining the customer base," Murphy said in a statement. "The Apex i series will contribute to the expansion of effective mobile applications around the world."

As for other printing solutions that are compatible with Apple, Star Micronics recently unveiled two four-inch portable Bluetooth receipt printers in its i Series of printers that can be used with iPod Touches, iPhones and iPads. Both the SM-T400i and SM-T404i feature a wide 104mm printable area and a configurable eco-friendly auto power down mode. They both save time and improve efficiently when it comes to printing documents.
