FileMaker software has been used by Dodge city public schools district in Kansas to streamline education delivery in a cost effective and efficient way.
Ray Wipf, executive director of information management, Dodge City Public Schools, said, “Our single, multi-faceted FileMaker solution, which integrates information for both administration and learning, has resulted in substantial savings as well as vast improvements in our teaching and learning processes.”
The system will ensure that teachers, students and administrative staff will have easy access to data to make real-time student assessment on their iPads in a simple format using FileMaker Go for iPad.
Dodge city public schools house 6,500 students, 440 teachers and 40 administrators and staff. The plan aims to replace every student desktop computer with iPads by January 2014. Students will take exams on iPads and teachers will be able to track student accuracy in real time using their own devices.
After the exams, teachers can leverage an intuitive interface to filter test results based on multiple variables like knowledge, weaknesses and strengths. All the results will be displayed in charts and graphs which enables teachers to identify trends and find out which student requires additional help and in which topic.
Automated FileMaker calculations and scripts produces test scores which are but key performance indicators. Teachers can analyze the scores to individual test questions. Also student achievement can be tracked over five-year periods and this data can be used by any school in the district.
FileMaker server software takes information from the teaching, learning, assessment and administration systems in the district and delivers them from a single source. This integrates all student assessments up to reporting.
Individuals to large companies use FileMaker software to manage, analyze and share essential information. The FileMaker database software is compatible with Windows, Mac, iPhone (News - Alert), iPad and the Web.
Abbott Northwestern Hospital’s internal medicine bedside ultrasound (IMBUS) program transforms patient care with Filemaker software solution on iPhone. The technology improves bedside diagnostic accuracy and efficiency. In contrast to the CT scan, x-ray or other imaging tests that expose patients to radiation, portable ultrasound does not have any harmful bio-effects.
Through a custom FileMaker database solution built using the FileMaker Platform and FileMaker Go for iPhone the IMBUS program helps medical residents to make bedside ultrasound exams easily.
