Alert Logic, a company specializing in Security-as-a-Service solutions for the cloud, signed a new partnership agreement with VMware, an enabler of virtualization and cloud infrastructure.
Through this deal, Alert Logic’s Threat Manager will now support VMware NSX.
With virtualization, companies are becoming more agile and efficient with their compute infrastructure. Traditional network security solutions fail to offer the same scalability and protection that is needed in this agile environment.
As a multi-tenant solution Alert Logic's Threat Manager provides 24x7 network threat detection for the entire IT environment. With the help of intelligent multifactor correlation and big-data analytics, the solution quickly identifies threats to IT assets. Moreover, customers who wish to outsource security monitoring can also use Alert Logic’s ActiveWatch 24x7 monitoring service.
Alert Logic's Threat Manager support for VMware NSX will allow organizations to deploy network security efficiently across VMware virtualized network environments to enhance their security and compliance.
Dave Colesante, senior vice president of product development and chief technology officer at Alert Logic clarified that currently, Alert Logic's Threat Manager Network threat detection solution provides agent-based security within VMware vCloud, and will soon support VMware NSX, the platform for network virtualization, to deliver agentless network security.
VMware NSX Network Virtualization platform delivers a new network operational model that improves agility and advances data center economics. The combination of Threat Manager and NSX aims to help customers roll out virtual networks with advanced security services within few minutes, said the company.
“Customers adopting private and hybrid clouds are deploying VMware NSX to virtualize their networks and simplify IT. Threat Manager enhances the broad range of networking and security services VMware NSX supports,” Hatem Naguib, vice president, Cloud Networking and Security, VMware, said.
