A new service from Voxbone called VoxOUT offers emergency 911 services to VoIP providers. VoxOUT was actually announced at the last ITEXPO (News - Alert), but at this week’s ITEXPO Vegas the company revealed the service is now available in 10 countries and is being used by 8x8 and OneStream Networks.
While some other providers offer 911 services in the U.S., VoxOUT is the first service of its kind in Europe, Busche tells TMCnet. The service is charged on a flat fee and comes as an additional service to the Voxbone DID services.
Voxbone also is working to expand the geographies covered by its DID services. Those services are now offered in 50 countries, mainly in Europe and North and South America. Busche says the company expects to make DID available in select parts of Asia, as well.

"Our international numbers will help NTT Com strengthen its competitive position in the Asia Pacific region and the rest of the world by offering enterprises a high-quality, convenient and cost-effective way to do business."
And on July 10, the company revealed that LiveOps (News - Alert) Inc., which sells cloud contact center and customer service solutions, has selected Voxbone to provide local (DID) and toll-free phone numbers for its customers around the world who require localized provisioning.
"LiveOps is the latest example of how Voxbone is the vendor of choice for contact center solution providers worldwide," said Rosenfeld. "With Voxbone, cloud contact center providers can eliminate their dependence on local, legacy telephony providers, freeing them to expand their offerings to companies worldwide."
