SanDisk Enhances SSD Lineup with New Addition

SanDisk (News - Alert) Corporation, a provider of flash memory storage solutions, asserted that it has enhanced its solid state drive (SSD) lineup for businesses with the new SATA-based SanDisk X210 SSD.

The new SSD is designed with all the necessary features to deliver fast, intelligent storage for workplace PCs and notebooks and can be acquired through SanDisk’s SSD hardware and software sales channel, the SanDisk Commercial Business Channel.

Based on 19nm MLC NAND flash, the X210 SSD supposedly introduces a new set of features and enhancements to support businesses that prioritize fast, consistent access to data, such as search engine and cloud storage providers and streaming media companies. It offers highly responsive and sustainable performance in read-intensive environments, and notably reduces I/O bottlenecks.

Some of the notable features of X210 SSD are: ATA command set ACS (News - Alert)-3; NCQ support up to queue depth is equal to 32; TRIM and thermal throttling support; S.M.A.R.T. feature supported; advanced flash management; tiered caching including volatile and non-volatile cache; and more.

According to the company, the SanDisk Commercial Business Channel was recently launched to offer OEM and enterprise-grade SSDs to value-added resellers (VARs), system integrators (SIs) and direct market resellers (DMRs). The 2.5-inch X210 SSD which is available in large quantities through the SanDisk Commercial Business Channel enables rapid boot-up, improves data-transfer speeds, and brings a fast and enjoyable performance to large applications and multi-media experiences.
