Meddius, LLC, a provider of Integration-as-a-Service in the healthcare space, has announced that it has successfully completed its first Statement on Standards and Attestation Engagements No. 16 (SSAE 16) audit.
(SSAE) No. 16 is an attestation standard put forth by the Auditing Standards Board (ASB (News - Alert)) of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) that addresses engagements undertaken by a service auditor for reporting on controls at organizations.
The audit at Meddius was done in accordance with the AICPA SOC reporting standards and was conducted by SSAE 16 Professionals, LLP, a full service accounting firm providing SSAE 16 (SOC 1) audits, SOC 2 audits, and other IT compliance audits.
“Meddius’s focus on strong internal controls is evident in this report,” says Jim Jimenez, Managing Partner at SSAE 16 Professionals, LLP. “The successful completion of this audit is a testament to Meddius’s integrity, accountability, and its commitment to its clients.”
The audit mainly involved Meddius Integration Platform, an implementation of IaaS, composed of on-premise, enterprise-grade integration appliances and distributed highly available transport for data interchange.
This Integration Platform was recently used by GHX to integrate and connect with hospital systems managing HL7 data, an industry framework for moving patient data. Meddius Integration Platform will help integration with clinical and financial systems in hospital environments to accelerate the sharing of mission-critical information among applications.
Meddius is a privately held company headquartered in Charlottesville, Virginia, working with a mission to improve patient care by helping organizations make healthcare data universally accessible.
