Channel Sales Expert Dawn Marie Ruszel to Build Worldwide Sales Channels for Virident Systems

Channel sales, or indirect sales, are a good way to rapidly expand your market presence. Following the footsteps of a host of other computing companies, the storage-class memory (SCM) solutions provider Virident Systems is all set to expand its worldwide channel sales network. For an efficient execution of its new sales strategy, Virident (News - Alert) has tapped the channel sales expert and ex-EMC executive Dawn Marie Ruszel to spearhead the company’s channel program.

Ruszel, a channel sales veteran, joins Virident as the company’s senior director of worldwide channels. Her 10 years of channel sales experience will come into play when she puts her efforts into architecting the new channel sales program for the company. She is likely to use her industry connections to bring in some committed and competent partners into the network in order to build up a diversified partner ecosystem.

Virident Systems’ flash based   SCM solutions are used in data-intensive applications. Virident’s disruptive technology helps speed up application response time and increases datacenter efficiency. In the past, Virident Systems has forged strategic partnerships with top-notch technology companies, including Intel, Cisco Systems (News - Alert), Seagate and Hercules Technology. The company secured funding from such venture investors as Artiman Ventures, Sequoia Capital, Globespan Capital Partners, and Mitsui Global Investments. The company now aims to reach out to a larger clientele, and the company believes that the channel sales network is the perfect route to this end. Virident’s CEO Mike Gustafson is of the opinion that Ruszel's experience in building and growing successful channel strategies will enable Virident to succeed in this effort.

“Virident's technology is revolutionizing the PCIe market. Forming strategic partnerships will be critical to continuing the success that the company's been achieving. Ruszel's experience in building and growing successful channel strategies is the perfect fit to maximize Virident's routes to market,” CEO of Virident Mike Gustafson noted in a statement.

It is important to mention that Ruszel’s association with EMC (News - Alert) Corporation spans eight long years. The last position she held in the company was national channel manager and partner team lead for the software division. She was instrumental in building the Sales Accreditation Program for EMC and in on-boarding and enabling the channel community. She also had a stint with enterprise accounts, managing more than $100 million in resell business annually. Ruszel won the Top Channel Manager award in 2009.

Ruszel spent the early years of her career at Netscape Solutions, which was acquired by AOL (News - Alert) and ultimately sold to Sun as iPlanet.

In other news Virident announced the appointment of former Xyratex senior vice president of development, network storage systems, Paul Zuhorski, as the company's new vice president of software product management.
