To see the most benefits from an open source cloud infrastructure project while still maintaining security and stability, SolidFire, a provider of all-solid-state (SSD) storage systems for cloud-based infrastructures, is now participating in Red Hat's (News
- Alert) OpenStack Cloud Infrastructure Partner Network.
Through this collaboration, SolidFire will work under the Red Hat OpenStack Certification program, assisting customers when deploying SolidFire's storage platform with Red Hat's OpenStack distribution network.
The Red Hat OpenStack Certification program allows organizations to build public, private, and hybrid clouds to manage their traditional as well as cloud infrastructure-based workloads.and SolidFire is a key contributor to OpenStack's Block Storage project.

The SolidFire driver is installed within the Cinder service and does not need any additional software to be downloaded. All SolidFire functionality and QoS controls are then easily accessible natively through OpenStack. Further, the addition of Red Hat to SolidFire's OpenStack partner ecosystem complements the integrations announced with Nebula and Rackspace (News - Alert) Private Cloud.
