Lockheed Martin (News - Alert) in association with Microsoft has triumphantly transitioned the Environmental Protection Agency, or EPA, to Microsoft Office 365. The cloud-based association and communication service, Microsoft (News
- Alert) Office 365 assists in enhancing employee access to communications and mobility equipment.
In a statement, Malcolm Jackson, CIO and Assistant Administrator for the EPA's Office of Environmental Information said, "Our partnership with Lockheed Martin in bringing Microsoft Office 365 to the EPA generated a level of excitement amongst our employees that has been unmatched. Lockheed Martin exceeded my expectations in delivering this service to the EPA."
Lockheed Martin and EPA signed an agreement for four years. As part of the agreement, a minimum of 22,000 EPA e-mail users have been shifted by Lockheed Martin to Office 365 for Government. U.S. government information, including e-mail, calendars, scheduling and collaboration tools for internal and external use, is stored in a separate community cloud by the service, Office 365 for Government. Lockheed Martin will also offer engineering and constant incorporation services.
