Net2TV Picks Unicorn Media to Provide Dynamic Ad Insertion Services

Unicorn Media has been picked by Net2TV’s Portico TV for the delivery of dynamic ad insertion services. Net2TV will leverage the patented Unicorn Once solution to monetize its Portico Smart TV programming service. Net2TV delivers free, cloud-based, ad-supported programming on its Portico TV service.

Bill Rinehart, Unicorn Media founder and CEO, said, “We’re excited to work with Net2TV to enhance their content-monetization capabilities as they provide more programming choices to their viewers.”

“With our patented Unicorn Once technology, Net2TV can provide the best possible viewing experience while monetizing their advanced Portico Smart TV service by inserting highly targeted ads anywhere in the stream,” Rinehart noted.

Unicorn will be delivering traditional 15- and 30-second interstitial television ads that are dynamically and strategically inserted into traditional commercial breaks. Also monitoring of the ad performance in real-time is possible, said officials.

Internet video solutions from Unicorn Media allows publishers to deliver and monetize live or VOD content on any IP-enabled device in the world. The solution Unicorn Once allows publishers to ingest one feed one time, and dynamically insert targeted ads using a single URL. This eliminates need for SDK or plug-in.

Unicorn Once enables publishers and broadcasters to generate ad revenue across their content libraries via Smart TVs, and Internet-connected devices like smartphones, tablets, game consoles, and set-top boxes besides others.

Net2TV’s cloud-based Portico TV service provides free, traditional program-length shows to connected televisions. The shows are produced by, Discovery’s Revision3, Popular Science and The Wall Street Journal. Philips (News - Alert) Smart TV models sold from 2011 onwards in the U.S. can receive these shows, added officials.
