Impact Telecom recently entered into a definitive agreement under which Impact will be able to acquire all the outstanding shares of Matrix Telecom, Inc. and AmericaTel Corporation, who also have operations under the brand names Matrix, AmericaTel, Excel Communications, Trinsic (News - Alert), Startec and Zero11 Wireless.
Impact Telecom is a specialist provider of voice and data services, and will expand its customer base with this acquisition. However, the company is yet to disclose the financial terms of the transaction.

Impact Telecom specializes in the wholesale telecommunications market and provides flexible and effective solutions. The company owns and operates a state-of-the-art Voice over IP (VOIP) network, which is responsible for carrying billions of minutes every year.
Apart from the complementary wholesale strategy, the Matrix business and residential customer bases will also provide Impactiva Telecom with service bundles and customer support models that enhance customer satisfaction and loyalty, making it an ideal fit for Impact’s customer-centric business model.

Once the acquisition is completed, Impact Telecom will have an even bigger range of switched and dedicated voice and data services, which will include domestic and international direct-dial and long distance, carrier transport, conferencing, hosting, toll-free and local services, as well as other value-added services offered to commercial, carrier and residential customers.
