Businesses face a rather piquant situation. On the one hand, they have to share information with their collaboration partners, but on the other they have nightmares about it being misused at a later date.
The repercussions may be colossal, so where’s the way out?
The integration of MyDLP, the sole open source Data Loss Prevention provider, and Seclore FileSecure, which protects intellectual property from being misused, seems to provide the answer and shows that collaboration and security are not really as conflicting as they appear to be.
“It might appear that the deployment of one of the above negates the need for the other. This however is not true in most cases,” said Vishal Gupta, CEO at Seclore.
Let’s see why this is so.
MyDLP is reportedly the most comprehensive open source solution that identifies confidential information, monitors usage and prevents leaks within the organization – while Seclore, reputed for its information rights management (IRM), controls the usage of information.
Hence, the integrations of these two solutions allow enterprises to define rules for sensitive information and automatically apply Seclore FileSecure usage controls to this information.
Thus the scope of DLP policies can be extended safely outside the organization.
This means any information that is shared may be withdrawn once the work is completed, and even while the business relationship exists, it can be controlled. Seclore’s FileSecure IRM allows enterprises to define and implement information usage policies, controlling who can use the information, to what extent and where.
“The combination of the discovery and preventive capabilities of MyDLP within the enterprise combined with the persistent control over information by Seclore FileSecure, within and outside the enterprise, presents a complete information centric security solution to the enterprise,” added Gupta.
According to Huseyin Kerem Cevahir, cofounder of MyDLP, the two security vendors have achieved the best DLP and IRM integration in world, bringing complete security to the enterprise, unmatched by any other IRM and DLP solution.
