EION Wireless has made headlines this week at ITEXPO Miami 2013 by unveiling and adding a new product to its StarAccess family.
EION Wirelesses’ StarAccess product line has numerous features. The company describes its ability as, “Wi-Fi Coverage. Anywhere,” as it offers long range Wi-Fi coverage, more than 3 km to be exact. So their description takes that motto to heart, and then some.
The StarAccess line will be powered by a dual-band 2.4/5.8GHz Wi-Fi Access Point (News - Alert) and with data rates up to 300 Mbps. It will offer users flexibility and will be able to be deployed for private or public access. It also has the functionality to be deployed as part of a data offload solution.
With the ability to offload a subscribers’ data onto the StarAccess Wi-Fi network will offer massive cost savings to customers. HPSA+ and LTE (News - Alert) solutions are generally much more expensive than Wi-Fi equipment, so StarAccess also offers a huge reduction in CAPEX costs.
Due to the large range the new product line will have, this network will be best suited for larger venues like stadiums, campuses and other large open venues. StarAccess will be equipped with a high receive sensitivity level, allowing for better connectivity from small devices such as smartphones, tablets and laptops.
In addition, StarAccess will offer users a ton of features including upgradeable remote software, a total of eight SSIDs that will enable an operator to create a tiered service for different users and traffic types, and seamless integration with other EION products Constellation Management software.
