Brocade recently confirmed that it has been officially granted the prestigious quality assurance and certification for Rackspace (News - Alert) Private Cloud, making it the first major networking provider to achieve this certification.
A rigorous corroboration process for compatibility and interoperability was carried out by the Brocade (News - Alert) VDX switch with VCS Fabric technology. Customers utilizing Rackspace Private Cloud Software with OpenStack can now deploy a dependable and flexible private cloud offering in an extremely straight-forward manner.
The Rackspace Private Cloud Software, a unit of The Rackspace Open Cloud platform, was unveiled in August 2012. To date, thousands of enterprises in at least 125 countries across the globe have downloaded the product.

Brocade is part of the OpenStack community from 2011, and has accepted OpenStack’s open source cloud platform as a components of its cloud architecture strategy.
The company is also in the process of optimizing its networking offerings for OpenStack.
