Pantheon , an all-in-one Drupal platform that promises to offer developers everything they need to build, launch and run websites, has revealed that the company is now receiving over a billion views a month.
Although only created just nine months ago, the company already has thousands of Web development firms, corporations and media companies depending on Pantheon to run their websites in the cloud—freeing them from the expense of hardware and servers.
Pantheon is basically an open-source CMS, Drupal, supported by a global community of over 900,000 users and more than 22,000 developers. It uses a Web-scale infrastructure to cater to the needs of small personal websites all the way up to high-traffic traffics sites that are touted as being the most viewed online publications in the world.
“We created Pantheon to liberate developers and companies from having to buy, run and manage servers in order to bring their ideas to the Web,” said Zack Rosen, CEO of Pantheon, in a statement. “It’s been rewarding to see the number and diversity of companies that share that vision and are now using Pantheon, helping us reach this important milestone just a few months after our launch.”
The company added that it has unveiled a new Apollo Dashboard, which makes the power of the CMS cloud available with just a browser.
This new dashboard can be of great help to developers and administrators looking to deploy sites, create staging and testing environments, and manage code deployments, all from a simple user interface. Traditionally, each of these tasks could take weeks of work.
“Before switching to Pantheon, our developers spent too many resources on operational things like site performance, server management, edge infrastructure and all the other pieces necessary to run a modern website,” added Matt Johnson, managing partner and co-founder, Alley Interactive. “Pantheon manages all of this for us in the cloud, ensuring that our clients get the best experience from their sites, and we don’t have to worry about running servers and carrying pagers.”
Pantheon is currently available, with paid plans starting at $25 per month.
