Field Service Management on the Surface Tablet

FieldOne Sky has hit the Surface. That is to say, FieldOne is the first Field Service Management (FSM) provider to release native support for the Microsoft (News - Alert) Surface Tablet, combining its FieldOne Sky solution with Surface.

The FieldOne Sky is a field service management system made to simplify a service organization’s business process. It eliminates paperwork from order processes, lets technicians access important details such as a client’s history in real-time, and acquire signatures via Surface. With FieldOne Sky on Surface, technicians can use the tablet to streamline their day-by-day operations.

Built to leverage the combined tablet and laptop functions of the Surface, FieldOne Sky is designed on the Microsoft Dynamics CRM platform. It can be accessed through the cloud or MS Outlook, providing a solution built for the needs of field service organizations. It’s not just a website launched through Surface, but rather, it’s designed to use all the features Surface has to offer.

“For technicians in the field, immediate access to scheduling, inventory, customer information and alerts truly makes all the difference,” explains Shloma Baum, founder, president, and CTO of FieldOne Systems.“By bringing together Sky and Surface, we’re opening up a whole new level of real-time information access. This significantly improves communications with customers awaiting service and eliminates redundancies that plague field technicians and dispatchers. With our ability to manage any mobile platform, IT departments truly have total control of their mobility strategy.”

FieldOne Sky should prove indispensible for FSM agents and organizations using the Microsoft Surface tablet. The tablet itself is a powerful, functional yet lightweight tablet with laptop functionality. By adding FieldOne Sky to it (and ultimately making it built for it) FieldOne is ensuring that the Surface has a home in Field Service Management.
