Fujitsu Teams Up with EVault

Fujitsu (News - Alert), a Japanese information and communication technology (ICT) company offering a full range of technology products, solutions and services, has recently been working to enhance its backup and recovery portfolio.

In this pursuit, the company has partnered with EVault, Inc., a Seagate (News - Alert) Company (STX).

EVault’s backup solutions are built to easily integrate on-premises and online backup data protection for fast, local data access and ensured cloud disaster recovery. With these exceptional efficiency and effective solutions, Fujitsu aims to enhance its backup and recovery portfolio to introduce a series of comprehensive hybrid cloud services that allow customers to leverage cloud backup effectively.

“Our clients recognize that cloud-based services can offer significant improvements in agility and cost-savings but they also require flexibility in adopting cloud services so they can meet their individual needs. A one-size-fits-all approach doesn’t work, which is why a hybrid approach to backup services is so important,” said Cameron McNaught, senior vice president cloud and strategic solutions, Fujitsu.

McNaught said the decision to partner with EVault was an easy one, and not only do they have a long-standing strategic relationship with Seagate, but the qualities of EVault’s solutions make it the perfect partner for delivering the hybrid cloud service for backup and keep with its commitment to its customers – whatever their location and size – to provide choice and agility through the Fujitsu Cloud service offerings.

Fujitsu plans to introduce new services backed by EVault’s technology that will help organizations to implement a hybrid cloud backup strategy with the ability to manage cloud-based and traditional on-premises data, and meet the specific data residency, compliance or protection requirements they require.

These services will also help in storing and retrieving customer data from both client devices as well as servers, databases and whole systems – and have the flexibility to define where and how the customers store that information.

Terry Cunningham, president and general manager of EVault said, “By leveraging EVault’s solid backup offerings on Fujitsu Cloud, the partnership brings easy-to-implement, efficient and secure cloud-connected backup to organizations which are navigating the complexities of online business continuity.”
