Facewatch to Help UK Public Report Personal Theft Quickly

Incidents of personal theft have been on the rise in U.K. in the last few years. According to certain reports, claims for personal theft and domestic burglaries have increased to alarming proportions in the last decade. Facewatch has taken personal security into its own hands.

Expectedly, ornaments have become the favorite item of thieves, thanks to phenomenal rise in the price of gold.

There may not be a foolproof plan to guard oneself against personal theft, but one can certainly make sure these types of thefts are reported to the authorities as soon as possible. Facewatch has unveiled a new Personal Theft Reporting App.

According to the company, this app will be a public version of its online business crime reporting system.

With the help of this new app, users can report thefts immediately to the authorities. It will also provide immediate insurance crime reference. If a credit card is stolen, the owner often finds it difficult to discontinue the card as s/he must make various calls and jump through a few different hoops.

This app allows him/her to cancel the credit card with just one call.

Simon Gordon, executive chairman, Facewatch Ltd. commented, “Opening up the Facewatch reporting technology to the public is a logical step in our development of tools to help reduce low level crime and make communities safer. This will provide a service that is perfectly suited for use via a smart phone. Geo tagging and the ability to upload images means information will reach the police faster than ever before and this will lead to more convictions and provide a further deterrent to pickpockets and bag snatchers.”

Recently, the company showcased a completely combined low-level crime reporting solution for customers, allowing on-premises CCTV cameras to be administered on- or off-site. It also offered the ability to upload CCTV clips of incidents and a complete evidence pack directly to the police.

The Facewatch system makes use of advanced IP cloud storage technology, allowing both analog and IP camera devices to utilize the system.
