EVault Inc., a Seagate company, has entered into a partnership with Fujitsu (News - Alert), a Japanese information and communication technology (ICT) company offering a full range of technology products, solutions and services.
Thanks to the pact, Fujitsu will be able to expand and enhance its backup and recovery portfolio by bringing to market a series of comprehensive hybrid cloud services that allow customers to leverage cloud backup effectively.
Officials with EVault said that Fujitsu’s hybrid cloud backup solutions, combining Fujitsu technology with the company’s software, will offer new levels of choice for companies seeking a reliable, agile backup method that allows for changing business and regulatory requirements – and multiple traditional and cloud platforms.
“Our clients recognize that cloud-based services can offer significant improvements in agility and cost-savings but they also require flexibility in adopting cloud services so they can meet their individual needs. A one-size-fits-all approach doesn’t work, which is why a hybrid approach to backup services is so important,” Cameron McNaught, senior vice president cloud and strategic solutions, Fujitsu, said in a statement.
McNaught said the decision to partner with EVault was an easy one.
“Not only do we have a long-standing strategic relationship with Seagate (News - Alert), but the qualities of EVault’s solutions make it the perfect partner for delivering the hybrid cloud service for backup and so sustain our commitment to our customers – whatever their location and size – to provide choice and agility through the Fujitsu Cloud service offerings,” he said.
Company officials pointed out that over the coming months, Fujitsu will launch a series of services based on the EVault technology that enable organizations to adopt a hybrid cloud backup strategy, with the ability to manage cloud-based and traditional on-premises data to meet the specific data residency, compliance or protection requirements they face.
“Fujitsu is a world-class IT services provider with an impressive heritage. Strategic partnerships are fundamental to EVault’s success and we are delighted to be working so closely with Fujitsu,” said Terry Cunningham, president and general manager of EVault.
By leveraging EVault’s solid backup offerings on Fujitsu Cloud, the partnership brings easy-to-implement, efficient and secure cloud-connected backup to organizations navigating the complexities of online business continuity.
