Recently, Savvis announced a partnership with VMware to expand the Savvis Enterprise Cloud Ecosystem Program. According to this new partnership, Savvis will now provide cloud-ready applications from the VMware Cloud Applications Marketplace.
Savvis provides enterprise cloud computing solutions, helping users spend more time building their business and less time maintaining their IT infrastructure. Savvis provides cost savings, high performance, scalability and security with the help of a flexible, easy-to-use cloud interface.
Savvis brings together its worldwide data center footprint and major network connectivity to offer this solution.
The VMware Cloud Applications Marketplace provides Savvis clients with access to a whole range of open-source packages and commercial applications. These are mainly contributed by major hardware vendors, software vendors, system integrators and content providers.
These applications can be easily installed, scaled, administered and adjusted with VMware vFabric Application Director, a major cloud application provisioning solution.
“The integration of our cloud ecosystem with the VMware Cloud Applications Marketplace significantly transforms and expands our application catalog," said David Shacochis, vice president of cloud platforms at Savvis. "This expansion of our relationship with VMware provides our customers direct access to a range of ready-to-use enterprise applications, ranging from content management and developer tools to middleware and collaboration frameworks.”
Recently, the company unveiled its Symphony Cloud Storage, which integrates worldwide accessibility and unlimited capacity along with the reliability and protection businesses demand. Current clients who use the CenturyLink private network will not pay data transfer fees when downloading data, and any company can access Symphony Cloud Storage over the public Internet.
To move data between their cloud storage and infrastructure, Savvis clients that host or colocate in a cloud storage-enabled data center do not pay transfer fees.
