It appears that Cisco Systems (News - Alert) knows exactly what it wants to ask Santa for Christmas. The company has announced that in 2013, the company wants to be considered the “No. 1 IT company.” This does not mean that the company thinks it will pass competitors like IBM (News - Alert) in the revenue department. This means that the company wants to be known as having the best customer satisfaction and the best profit margins for its myriad of different products.
That particular goal shouldn’t be all that hard considering the company is one of the most reliable in the IT industry simply because they have found a way to master so many different sectors inside the bigger market. Cisco has a presence in markets such as the telemarketing and contact center industry. Cisco also has quite the presence in the cloud industry.
When all is said and done, Cisco is simply one of those companies that works with some of the biggest providers in the country to better their APIs and SDNs. The company is one of the most trusted firms in the world and their research into bettering smart grid technology. With all of these different specializations and accomplishments, it certainly doesn’t seem like becoming one of, if not the top IT companies in the world is a goal that is very far off.
There are some industry analysts that are a bit confused as to how the company will hit the mark it has set out for itself, considering that one area where it needs to improve is in the big data arena. Cisco doesn’t have the huge storage arrays that some of its other competitors are selling. Cisco believes that it is able to answer those doubts by continuing to form partnerships with companies that do deal in large storage products including IBM.
