Atrenta Debuts Version 5.0 of SpyGlass Platform

Recently, Atrenta released version 5.0 of SpyGlass RTL analysis and optimization platform. With this release, the company has combined SpyGlass and GenSys platforms.

SpyGlass from Atrenta makes use of state-of-the-art static analysis to identify structural, coding and consistency issues in RTL descriptions. The SpyGlass platform provides a complete solution for analysis of RTL structures. This includes clocks, resets and clock domain crossings (CDC).

It also identifies problems to their source and assists designers in resolving the problems before they creep into downstream design deployment.

The SpyGlass platform caters to electrical rules checking (ERC) in the design as well.

According to the company, SpyGlass RTL includes considerable improvements for performance, accuracy and usability. Many of these improvements are the direct result of customer feedback.

Version 5.0 provides various other features such as improved Tcl support, better power estimation accuracy, enhanced quality of results for clock domain crossing (CDC) analysis, improved register and memory power reduction and sign-off level checks for power verification.

“Atrenta has targeted many customer requested improvements in this release of the SpyGlass platform,” said Piyush Sancheti, vice president of product marketing at Atrenta. “RTL power optimization has been a significant focus area because we’re seeing strong demand for our SpyGlass Power suite of products. I am confident that this release will be well-received and deliver significant productivity gains that our customers have come to expect from Atrenta.”

Recently, the company announced a considerable expansion in its sales and support operations in Israel. The company has added a committed sales manager and a customer solutions architect to its team. Uri Farkash has been appointed as sales manager for Atrenta in Israel. He comes from Sigrity, where he worked as a sales and site manager of the Israeli branch.

The company was acquired by Cadence Design Systems (News - Alert)
