TeleSign Partners with Impermium

TeleSign, a company that deals in Internet fraud prevention and intelligent authentication solutions, recently revealed that it has signed a partnership agreement with Impermium, a company that deals in user-generated content management and brand protection for websites.

According to the terms of the agreement, the companies will join forces to come up with a complete technical solution for online businesses, providing them with multi-factor authentication and real-time content management abilities to stop cyber criminals, abusive users, and trolls.

TeleSign offers an intelligent authentication solution that provides an easy to implement and powerful method for identifying and substantially reducing online fraud and spam using the most widely deployed technology -- a user's phone. Currently, the company protects 2.5 billion downstream accounts in more than 200 countries and territories, offering localization services in 87 languages.

Additionally, Impermium provides user-generated content management for websites and social networks, defending them against sexually explicit language and hate speech, threats of violence and malicious links, fake offers from fraudulent accounts, and other forms of abuse. The system combines advanced technology and broad Internet scale threat information to provide cost-effective, real-time protection for more than 300,000 sites across the globe.

"It's inevitable that spammers will evolve their tactics, circumventing the technology put in place to stop them," according to Steve Jillings, CEO of TeleSign, in a statement. "It's time for social networking sites to be more strategic in order to block social spam. Our partnership with Impermium is a complete approach that helps stop registration fraud, prevents malicious content and enables businesses to protect their brand and users."

"Businesses are experiencing an alarming increase in account hacking, online abuse, and cyber attacks, all of which have a negative effect on brand image, advertising revenue, and user engagement," added Mark Risher, CEO of Impermium. "Impermium Intelligent Content Protection is the premier real-time defense against dangerous user-generated content. Our partnership with TeleSign is an ideal match, allowing us to not only identify, but take direct action against registration fraud and user account takeovers."
