IGear Pulse Always On Technology Enhances Machine Uptime for Oshkosh Defense

IGear Online, a provider of cloud and mobile machine monitoring software technology for the manufacturing industry, revealed that its IGear Pulse (News - Alert) Always On technology is helping a customer of Genesis Systems Group to enhance machine uptime significantly.

Genesis Systems is a robotic arc welding systems builder and its customer, Oshkosh Defense, was able to benefit from a boost in robot uptime by using the Genesis IntelligenceCenter workcell management solution. This solution is a cloud/mobile service powered by IGear Pulse.

Mike Stoecker, Genesis Systems Group’s IntelligenceCenter product manager said, “IGear Pulse had nearly all the functionality we wanted. Pulse is able to track critical robot and weld parameters, file backups, as well as statistical data on workcell performance. It also can record, for our benefit as well as that of our customers, alarm histories, frequency reports, diagnostics and a lot more.”

IGear Pulse serves the needs of machine builder OEMs as an online content solution helping them follow machine performance, utilization, and service needs. The machines in the field are able to automatically push data to IGear servers. This information can be stored and analyzed by both the OEM and the end customer.

Also as the information is securely stored in the cloud, any authorized and authenticated Web device can access it on the Internet.

“Genesis Systems Group understands that real-time performance data is the future of industrial robotics. This is critical information that can be used not only to increase machine uptime, but also build revenue by offering value-added service programs and parts replacement programs tied to machine use,” said Don Korfhage, president and CEO of IGear Online.

OEMs can deliver technical support within minutes as they can easily and accurately analyze problems and arrive at suitable solutions, said officials.

Genesis Systems shared machine performance data with Oshkosh Defense and enabled it to significantly increase the utilization for its products. The company has installed Genesis Systems welding robots on its production lines. Oshkosh Defense is a global designer and manufacturer of tactical military trucks and armored wheeled vehicles.

Oshkosh is leveraging data collected by the Genesis IntelligenceCenter solution. This helps it identify causes for downtime and proactively remove them. The solutions also deliver performance data to operators using a video display system.
