Appcelerator, a mobile platform company, recently announced it has completed the acquisition of Nodeable, a company that provides solutions for real-time, big data processing for Hadoop. According to the officials from Appcelerator, the acquisition will help the company expand its Enterprise Mobile Cloud offering.
"To accelerate building our next-generation mobile platform, we wanted a better way for our customers to quickly analyze the huge volume of data coming in from their apps, in a way that's intelligent and real-time," explained Jeff Haynie, CEO of Appcelerator. "Nodeable's StreamReduce technology will be a foundational component of our Enterprise Mobile Cloud offering."
Nodeable provides real-time data stream processing for big data applications. Nodeable's StreamReduce engine aggregates, normalizes and analyzes data before it reaches Hadoop, significantly accelerating batch processing under MapReduce. The solution StreamReduce processes and enhances your data for further analysis in Hadoop or Elastic MapReduce, turning raw data into useful information and decreasing the volume of MapReduce jobs required.
"Mobile is driving massive amounts of data, which is creating demand for real-time insights. The combination of Nodeable's real-time streaming technology with Appcelerator's mobile platform will enable enterprises to turn their mobile data into actionable information," said Mike Olson, CEO of Cloudera and investor/director of Nodeable.
"We are honored and excited to join the Appcelerator team," shared Dave Rosenberg, CEO and Co-Founder of Nodeable. "Through Nodeable's StreamReduce technology, Appcelerator will now be able to tackle the enormous amount of data moving from mobile applications to the cloud, providing real-time analytics that enterprises can efficiently translate into actionable and relevant business decisions."In related news, Appcelerator recently announced that at present, 350,000 mobile application developers from across 250 countries use its mobile platform to build their apps. While the majority of the Appcelerator Mobile Application Developer Community resides outside the United States, a large portion of these developers are from India, Japan, Germany, Brazil and the United Kingdom. Appcelerator's mobile platform has been designed with the flexibility of open source development technologies, combined with the power of cloud services. The Titanium platform allows developers to develop popular consumer and enterprise apps, which can now be delivered in 70 percent less time.
