Ixia Announces Membership in the Broadband Wireless Consortium of India

Ixia (News - Alert), which provides converged IP network validation and network visibility solutions, has joined the Broadband Wireless Consortium of India to ensure high-performing user experience and support emerging standards.

The Broadband Wireless Consortium of India (BWCI) is a national forum for addressing various aspects of the broadband wireless technologies and equipping the Indian industry to reap the benefits of the latest technologies.

BWCI was set up in 2007 with a vision to drive 3G/4G to do for broadband wireless access what 2G did for telephony. Major telecom stakeholders in India are members of the consortium.

“BWCI provides a platform to bring organizations together which are critical to the building of a high-performing broadband wireless ecosystem in India,” said Professor Bhaskar Ramamurthi, chairman of BWCI and honorary director of CEWiT, in a statement.

Ramamurthi said Ixia’s membership in BWCI brings a new dimension in exploring emerging wireless technologies and addressing their challenges.

Officials with Ixia said the company will collaborate with the BWCI to provide leadership in the deployment of high-performing, stable and secure broadband wireless infrastructures.

Back in October, Ixia announced the industry’s only carrier-grade, high-density, 40 Gbps network monitoring switch to achieve NEBS Level 3 certification for operation in mission-critical telecommunications environments.

This certification complements Ixia’s comprehensive portfolio of network monitoring switches designed to provide increased visibility into telecommunications and service provider networks, such as 4G LTE (News - Alert).

The NEBS-certified Ixia Anue Net Tool Optimizer solutions help network engineers address the challenges of monitoring and testing high-performance, complex networks with limited visibility access points.

By aggregating data from multiple network access points, these solutions deliver critical network traffic to the essential monitoring tools, giving network operators a competitive business advantage in the form of increased network visibility. Ixia continues to lead the industry - being the first to market - with its NEBS Level 3-certified products.
