New Relic Strengthens its Strategic Relationship with Microsoft

New Relic is offering an add-on option in the Windows Azure store as a part of the Azure Developer Portal.

This move will strengthen New Relic’s strategic relationship with Microsoft (News - Alert).

New Relic, a SaaS-based application performance management provider, made this announced at Microsoft Build 2012. Developers who are deploying any mission-critical Web app on Windows Azure can leverage this add-on option to monitor and diagnose performance issues throughout the Web application environment.

“Membership in the Windows Azure ecosystem enables us to be on the forefront of offering a more secure, cloud-ready solution to developers as they build, deploy and maintain their business-critical applications,” said Lew Cirne, New Relic CEO and founder.

Developers can deploy the New Relic Web application performance management solution from inside the Windows Azure developer portal in three steps.

First, the developer has to log into the portal, then build the application within Microsoft Visual Studio, and finally implement New Relic.

New Relic claims its availability within Windows Azure store helps the delivery of fast and efficient SaaS (News - Alert)-based, end-to-end monitoring of Web applications on the Windows Azure open cloud platform.

“New Relic has close relationships with web application developers and is now poised to extend the company's SaaS solution for monitoring and optimizing web applications to new customers. New Relic is a welcome addition to the Windows Azure Store,” said Scott Guthrie (News - Alert), corporate vice president, Microsoft Server and Tools for Microsoft Azure Application Platform.

New Relic was in news last month for announcing the launch of New Relic Connect, the latest addition to New Relic's world-class partner program.
