NetSTAR Upgrades its inCompass Services with New Features

NetSTAR, a source of solutions for OEM secure Web filtering, stated that its inCompass fourth-generation Web-Filtering SDK and Cloud services is now available with enhanced anonymous proxy detection, and with real-time detection via the instant content categorization engine (iCCE).

The company stated that the Instant Content Categorization Engine (iCCE) focuses on categorizing content dynamically and in real time, without introducing any user perceived latency.

With advanced open source tools, one can easily create anonymous proxy sites, used to break security and policy and expose the user and organization’s network to man-in-the-middle attacks, malware and payload injection, identity theft, outbound information leaks, and more.

inCompass iCCE is reportedly more effective Internet filtering and categorization technology available today, as it is capable of detecting and blocking an anonymous proxy site as soon as access is attempted.

“Competitive solutions rely on a large database of categorized anonymous proxy sites that are extremely slow to update, and are bloated with outdated sites. It is impossible for them to keep up the dynamic nature of anonymous proxy sites,” said Akira Nakayama, vice president of NetSTAR. “Through the iCCE technology, inCompass has intelligent identification and analysis technologies that rapidly classify web content in real-time and detect anonymous proxies – even if it is a completely new anonymous proxy site and has never been identified before”.

NetSTAR explained that the inCompass technology suite accurately and effectively categorizes blogs, social networking and other Web 2.0 sites that frequently have content changes, even between individual user requests.

Also, the NetSTAR inCompass Web-Filtering SDK represents a new, fourth-generation approach by providing a revolutionary four-layer solution.

OEM Partners will find the new ability to detect and block anonymous proxy websites in real time highly beneficial, and they can employ the inCompass technology over new and never before identified sites.

inCompass is designed to be quickly and easily deployed in a wide range of OEM environments, including SaaS (News - Alert) offerings, security products and family-oriented security solutions. The system’s inherent legacy support simplifies the transition from older technologies.
