Liquidware Labs Virtualization Solution ProfileUnity Picked by livin

UK-based homes and communities organization, livin has selected Liquidware Labs virtualization solution, ProfileUnity.

Liquidware, a specialist in desktop transformation solutions, developed ProfileUnity to help customers like livin maintain and enhance end-user experiences when migrating to a virtual desktop infrastructure.

Property management firm livin manages over of 8,500 residential and commercial properties in North East England. To facilitate moving to new offices, its ICT team was keen on migrating to a virtual desktop environment using the VMware View platform but was hindered by management issues.

Dan Evans, livin ICT Infrastructure Manager said, “The biggest reason virtual desktop initiatives fail is the user experience. And the biggest issue is profile management. We have a diverse software environment, so we have to use more than just a few standard images. “

“With the remote presentation sessions we used previously, we thus had problems with profile synchronization and overall virtual desktops stability. We could not go forward with VDI until we had a solid way to manage our user profiles,” Evans added.

Liquidware Labs’ ProfileUnity was picked to solve this problem. ProfileUnity is compatible with VMware View and other platforms that support Windows, including Citrix XenDesktop. It also provides a complete profile to users at log-on encompassing desktop customizations, applications and data.

Also, ProfileUnity will help livin bring its 175 users within the new virtual desktop infrastructure. Updating physical PCs is also facilitated by ProfileUnity.

Besides being easy to install and configure, ProfileUnity also fits seamlessly into the VMware environment. It delivers consistent user experiences with desktop and application stacks and preserves user desktop settings eliminating need to go back to default setting when logging-in each time.

Recently, Liquidware Labs announced that the new Stratusphere UX has become a supported component of VMware branch office desktop architecture, including VMware View, VMware vCenter Operations Manager and VMware Mirage.
