Ikanos (News - Alert) develops semiconductor chips and software products to provide high-speed broadband for in-demand applications such as HDTV and high-speed Internet services, and that's why AVM GmbH has deployed the Ikanos Fusiv Vx185 communications processor in its new FRITZ!box 7369.
As the Ikanos Fusiv Vx185 is a broadband communications processor that leverages highly advanced technologies such as bonding and vectoring, which serve to achieve aggregate throughput of up to 300Mbps, the Vx185 processor is a perfect fit for AVM.
“The integration of these technologies is fundamental for the increase of VDSL data rates and reach,” said Peter Faxel, executive vice president of products and technology for AVM.
In addition, as the Vx185 adds more processing power and critical interfaces for next-generation residential gateways, AVM is well positioned to deliver the best possible performance to residential customers – especially those who use applications that are bandwidth hungry.
FRITZ!Box is AVM's versatile solution for secure broadband access from multiple PCs. It consists of a router with an integrated modem and offers many options and extensions to connect to usual phones.
The FRITZ!box 7369 includes a flexible DSL WAN interface supporting everything from basic ADSL connectivity to high-speed 17MHz VDSL2 bonding (G.998.2), supports bonding of two VDSL2 lines, and is G.993.5-compliant.
AVM’s new FRITZ!box 7369, the latest in its flagship line of award-winning residential gateway products, is currently being shown at the Broadband World Forum (BBWF) tradeshow in Amsterdam.
Ikanos Communications Inc., a provider of advanced broadband semiconductor and software products for the digital home, announced its newest broadband technology solution, Velocity-3, a fully integrated Vectored VDSL chipset and software solution, offering some step-ahead performance for delivering broadband to the digital home.
