Logitech Unveils New Suite of Products for Navigation of Windows 8

Logitech (News - Alert), a company that develops products spanning multiple computing, communication and entertainment platforms, announced a new lineup of products which includes the Logitech Wireless Rechargeable Touchpad T650, Logitech Touch Mouse T620 and Logitech Zone Touch Mouse T400.

These products, as indicated, are each specifically designed to work with the Windows 8 touch interface.

“This new family of products takes the traditional mouse functionality you’re used to and optimizes it for the navigation experience offered by Windows 8,” Mike Culver, vice president of brand development for consumer computing platforms at Logitech, said in a statement.

“Our new mice and touchpad replicate the touch-screen experience that you’ve grown accustomed to on smartphones and tablets. With Windows 8 now offering up a similar touch experience, our products give you quick, easy and dynamic access to the core elements of the new interface,” Culver added.

The Logitech Wireless Rechargeable Touchpad T650 features a large, ultra-smooth glass touch-surface that supports Windows 8 gestures, and speeds up navigation among windows while giving fingers more room to roam.

For those looking for a mouse with an ultra-sleek design, the Logitech Touch Mouse T620 provides a full touch-surface for fluid navigation. Similar to the touchpad, users will have the freedom to gesture wherever their fingers rest on the mouse, even on the edges. This smooth wireless mouse has high style, designed-for-comfort curves and a laser-grade optical sensor that ensures precision tracking on most surfaces.

The Logitech Zone Touch Mouse T400 goes beyond traditional mouse functionality by letting users quickly and easily access popular elements of the operating system. It features a glass touch-surface and users can click anywhere on the front of the touch zone to go directly to the Windows 8 Start Screen to access their favorite apps.

With a rubber grip wrapping the comfortable shape and by coupling the standard functionality found in a more traditional mouse with smooth horizontal and vertical scrolling, users can be happy exploring their PC or tablet for hours on end.

The Logitech Wireless Rechargeable Touchpad T650 recharges through USB and has up to one month of battery life on a full charge, and an On/Off switch with a low-battery indicator light. The Logitech Touch Mouse T620 has a six-month battery life, and the Logitech Zone Touch Mouse T400 has an 18-month battery life. Similar to the touchpad, the Logitech Zone Touch Mouse T400 also features an On/Off switch and a low battery indicator light.

The Logitech Wireless Rechargeable Touchpad T650, Logitech Touch Mouse T620 and Logitech Zone Touch Mouse T400 are expected to be available in the U.S. and Europe beginning in October 2012, for a suggested retail price of $79.99, $69.99 and $49.99, respectively.

In another release, Logitech announced the expansion of its keyboard lineup with the launch of its Bluetooth Illuminated Keyboard K810 expected to be available in the U.S. and Europe in October and November 2012 respectively.
