Prowess Inc., a California-based developer of software solutions for oncology practices, has entered into a partnership with Ignis Systems to integrate lab ordering and results into the company’s soon-to-be-released Panther EMR|OIS|PACS solution.
Officials with Prowess said the Panther solution extends the company’s offerings, previously focused around radiation treatment planning, by providing practice management, ePrescribing and patient charting to meet the needs of the entire oncology practice.
According to company officials, the new offering, which will have a worldwide market, integrates OrdersAnywhere, Ignis’ Web-hosted CPOE (computerized physician order entry) solution into the oncology workflow.
“We looked at business philosophy, product capabilities, and the fact that Ignis supports all major U.S. labs plus many independent labs, and is continuously bringing in more,” said John Nguyen, CEO at Prowess. “But I think the main factor was OrdersAnywhere’s ease of use, which aligns well with Prowess’ highly intuitive Web-based user interface. Like ours, Ignis’s approach is very straightforward, very user friendly.”
“We’ve found the Ignis team to be very responsive and nimble. That agility is what’s making this accelerated development process possible,” said Nguyen.
Prowess claims to be the pioneer in Oncology software solutions, including its patented DAO IMRT technology, the only Real-time Adaptive Radiation Therapy (RealART) planning, the very first in Windows 7/64 bit-based TPS, and a ribbon workflow driven interface throughout its product portfolio.
Ken Willett, CEO at Ignis Systems, said the partnership with Prowess demonstrates OrdersAnywhere’s ease of integration, as well as its capacity to work with a highly customizable specialty solution.
“We’re excited about the worldwide visibility for our solutions that will come from this partnership with Prowess,” said Willett.
