Alteva Officials Participate in TMC Cloud Communications Expo

Alteva (News - Alert), a unified communications or UC solution provider and subsidiary of Warwick Valley Telephone Company, announced that its chief sales officer Louis Hayner joined executives from ScienceLogic, CGI, Embrase and NetSapiens to discuss “Web 2.0 + Telco 2.0 = Voices in the Clouds” at the TMC (News - Alert) Cloud Communications Expo in Austin, Texas.

The participants discussed the technologies and opportunities that can be developed by synergizing the capabilities of Telco 2.0 and Web 2.0. They also chalked out the strategies that are imperative to build voice and Web applications that can be fully cloud based.

Alteva offers cloud-based UC solutions including Voice over IP phone systems and service (VoIP PBX), hosted Microsoft (News - Alert) communication services, fixed mobile convergence, and advanced voice applications for the desktop.

“Voice and data are converged in one of the most rapidly growing industries,” said Hayner. “Increasing knowledge and understanding of the benefits of convergence and the benefits of the cloud is fundamental as we work with corporations implementing innovative, transformative solutions.”

Hayner specializes in the creation of optimized channel partner sales models and he has been instrumental in developing the sales channel at Alteva. Alteva was acquired by WVT Communications in August 2011 and has been ranked the ninth largest hosted IP telephony and UC provider by Frost and Sullivan.

To Hayner’s credit are the launch of Alteva’s Wholesale and Channel Partner (News - Alert) programs and the increase of the company’s revenue by 62 percent within its first year.

Mike Timar, vice president, product management at WVT Communications Group, took part in the UC industry panel at the conference titled “Calculating True ROI with VoIP Technology in the Cloud.” Other notable participants were from Fonality (News - Alert) and OnSip Business VoIP.

The discussion revolved around the topic of how cloud-based VoIP technology provides immediate cost savings. The advantages highlighted were the ability that employees get to work faster and smarter through software integrations and the insights into the analytics of voice traffic.

Cloud Communications Expo attracts industry leaders and professionals who are desirous to integrate and leverage cloud-based communications applications and network based communications interfaces and architectures.
