GreenBytes Augments EMEA Team, Opens Amsterdam Location

After the appointment of UK-based Stephen O'Donnell as chairman earlier this year, GreenBytes (News - Alert), Inc., a developer of cloud-scale IO-offload solutions, has announced it is opening an office in Amsterdam that will allow it to increase the presence of its business operations in the European market.

GreenBytes’ solutions enable organizations to meet VDI performance requirements using their existing architecture. Its Amsterdam center will add key engineering, sales and support staff to provide customers and reseller partners with enhanced support services for the company's high-performance optimization solutions for virtual infrastructure.

Earlier this year, GreenByte added strategic UK-based value added reseller partners Enables IT, Cognitive Network Solutions, Intasel and Envertica, joining existing European partners KPN (News - Alert) Corporate Market, SCC, Telindus ISIT, E-Storage, Visolity, InterExperts, Morex and Losstech. Back in May, GreenBytes announced that it received $12 million in Series B funding in a round led by London-based Generation Investment Management LLP, along with participation from Battery Ventures and GreenBytes management.

Richard Petrocelli, president and COO, GreenBytes said in a statement, "We are focusing our efforts in Europe on sales execution with an expanded presence out of London to cover the United Kingdom and the opening of an office in Amsterdam to service mainland Europe. With a stronger footprint in the region, we plan to provide enhanced services to GreenBytes customers and partners as we continue to gain traction in the European market."

At two upcoming European events, GreenBytes will be a featured exhibitor, demonstrating the IO Offload Engine, a purpose-built, cloud-scale VDI solution that enables organizations to reliably and cost-effectively meet demanding virtualization performance requirements using their existing storage architecture. In addition, O'Donnell will be a featured speaker at IP Expo, speaking to "Emerging Technologies that Enable Cloud-Scale VDI."
