Red Lion Controls, a specialist in delivering communication, monitoring and control solutions for industrial automation, has added a new PAX2C PID controller to its portfolio of industrial automation solutions.
The PAX2C PID controller has been designed especially to serve the process and temperature control markets encompassing food and beverage, plastics, packaging, energy, gas, heat treating and glass processing industries.
As part of the Red Lion PAX2 series, the controller will have several flexible, easy-to-use features that are expected to significantly improve productivity and efficiency on the production line.
The remarkable features of the controller include field installable plug-in option cards that facilitates configuration so that customers can seamlessly use different cards to build their own controllers. This helps eliminate the need to order more products to meet other application requirements.
The device features a dual-line tri-color display that offers at-a-glance visual representation of up to 16 changing alarm conditions with seven programmable color zones. These can be configured according to customer needs.
It lets users access bar graphs, annunciators, color zones and display mnemonics.
“The real game-changer with our PAX2C is the flexible plug-in option cards – customers can build their own controllers by simply changing cards,” said Jeff Thornton, director of product management at Red Lion Controls. “This reduces inventory and lowers costs because they only need to stock a single controller and a handful of option cards.”
Other features include a universal input which accepts current, voltage, resistance, temperature and process signals in one single unit. The universal power supply also accepts AC or DC power, and is ready to plug in “out of the box” enabling fast, easy installation irrespective of power polarity.
A standard built-in USB connector and Red Lion’s Crimson software lend support to both current needs and future requirements. It also enables easy programming, firmware and software upgrades, added officials.
Recently, Red Lion Controls announced an enhancement to its Sixnet MobilityPro 5000 portfolio of industrial cellular modems with the inclusion of Wi-Fi capabilities. The MobilityPro 5000, supports the 802.11 b/g wireless local area network (WLAN), and allows wireless communication with Wi-Fi equipped devices like laptops, smartphones, medical data transmitters and fingerprint readers.
