Canon Wins 2012 European Frost & Sullivan New Product Innovation Award

Cannon has announced that its Smart Space cabinet has won the 2012 European Frost & Sullivan (News - Alert) New Product Innovation Award. According to Frost & Sullivan, this product is expected to sell more than most of other such products in the market.

The Smart Space Cab offers two versions of sliding removable Partition Panels for racks bayed in rows. The narrow partition panels are used in pairs and they can slide forward and backward to either open cross cabling apertures between adjacent racks, or completely close off inter-rack side access.

Also, in both positions, cooling air flow is managed to maximum efficiency.

The second type is Full Depth Panels, used singly (or in pairs) to get a permanent sideways barrier between adjacent racks. They are also used as end-of-row side panels.

According to Canon (News - Alert), full depth panels also help in cooling air flow efficiently.

While speeding up deployment and project rollout as well as simplifying access under floors and within aisles, Cannon's proprietary "RAFt" or Raised Access Floor technology considerably decreases raised floor cost and planning time.

In this way, RAFt gets rid of the need for 2x2 foot floor tile to be put under the rack.

“In today's data centre environment where floor space and energy cost are major factors, the Smart Space cabinet has provided the much awaited solution to save space while offering financial benefits," said Frost & Sullivan Research analyst Gautham Gnanajothi. "With the trend moving toward racks integrated with active components, added security and cooling, Cannon is strongly positioned to garner market share with its product.”

Recently, the company announced the next-generation imageRunner Advance Series, a platform of multifunction office systems created to change workflow from a series of individual processes to a continuous, combined flow of shared information. To the design, workflow, control, performance and environmentally-conscious functionality of each model, the new platform provides numerous improvements.

This series of imageRunner Advance streamlines business workflows.
