Analysys Mason Selected by Hong Kong Special Administrative Region

Recently, Analysys (News - Alert) Mason was engaged by the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. According to this agreement, the company will conduct an information and communications technology (ICT) systems strategy review for Hong Kong police force.

Analysys Mason is company which provides work ranges from strategy development and review, technology portfolio analysis, revenue uplift and market-entry strategies, customer segmentation, competitor profiling and market analysis. Apart from advising on the diversification strategy for a fixed and mobile operator entering the TV content market, the company recently completed a detailed market assessment to support the investment decision on a European/Asian transit product.

Looking to improve conventional policing, enhance community police work, and strengthen intelligence-led policing, Analysys Mason will formulate an ICT development for the Hong Kong police.

Apart from a review about the existing ICT policies, strategies and network infrastructure; recognizing and predicting the needs of front-line police operations, and the systems and infrastructure needed to support them, the multi-million-Hong-Kong- dollar consultancy program (which will take place over the next year) will also consist of an in-depth review of the current business environment of the Force.

Duncan Swan, Partner at Analysys Mason, commented, “It is a privilege to have been awarded this prestigious contract. Bringing together a team not only of technical consultants, but also experts in the field of operational policing, will allow Analysys Mason to provide deep insights into how the Hong Kong Police can use ICT to its best operational advantage. Traditionally, the Force has been recognized as a global leader in many of its initiatives, and this strategy will help maintain that profile.”

Recently, the company published report where it stated mobile content and applications influence $80 billion of global mobile spending.
