The Niagara 2831 40G Intelligent External Active bypass integrates with inline networking devices, security appliances, and central office applications.
The active bypass feature enables smooth failover without interrupting the communication session in the case of a hardware failure, software crash or link loss. Niagara 2831 also enables plug-and-play connectivity and includes Interface Masters’ auto heartbeat technology which requires no additional drivers to be installed on connected appliances.
“Interface Masters is pleased to announce the industry’s first 40G Active Bypass system targeted towards the security, monitoring and networking markets. Being first to market shows Interface Masters’ leadership and commitment to the monitoring market,” stated Ben Askarinam, founder and CEO of Interface Masters Technologies, in a statement. “The Niagara 2831 will be followed by additional monitoring solutions addressing 40Gb networks while optimized for next generation data center requirements.”
The Niagara 2831 40Gb bypass is managed by a sophisticated controller which supports a wide variety of control and management capabilities. Flexible and intuitive CLI and GUI management features including secure Web UI via an HTTPS connection, secure shell, SNMP, e-mail notification for special events, and bypass method configuration are also offered by the system.
TACACS+ authentication and Syslog support are some of the other important features of the Niagara 2831 40GB bypass.
Officials have confirmed that the product is currently available for evaluation and will begin to be shipped in Q4-2012.
