mPhase Technologies Gets Notice of Allowance for Modular Device Patent

mPhase Technologies (News - Alert), Inc., a company that takes credit for introducing revolutionary Smart Surface technology enabled by breakthroughs in nanotechnology, MEMS processing and micro fluidics, has announced that it has received a Notice of Allowance from the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office (USPTO) for a Modular Device patent.

The company officials explained that this invention is linked to handheld, powered device containing at least one power module having at least one battery, wherein the power module is removable and separately connects to each of the load modules.

This is also available to a modular device for providing multiple modular components that may be interchanged as desired. It is a system for providing a modular device for use in emergency or everyday applications and having a plurality of modular components which are interchangeable with one another depending on the particular desired use.

mPhase previously introduced Smart Surface enabled product, the mPhase Smart NanoBattery that has the potential applications within drug delivery systems, lab-on-a-chip analytic systems, self-cleaning systems, liquid and chemical sensor systems, and filtration systems.

The company has recently announced that it had some new steps in mind to augment its Smart NanoBattery technology, including some unexpected new materials like Graphene, among others.

mPhase first brought out word that they'd joined into an official agreement with a major university in a bid to pursue business opportunities with government projects. More specifically, the projects would involve ink jet battery printing as well as electronic circuit printing, involving Graphene. The use of Graphene in mPhase's battery printing process could potentially yield newer, more powerful battery technology as well as smaller and more flexible batteries overall, along with steeply reduced prototype costs and even lower production costs in general.
