Acer recently introduced the newest refresh of its F2 generation 3 Series servers, featuring the Intel (News - Alert) Xeon E5 family of processors. All of the new hardware options combined, these F2 generation servers are said to be capable of offering performance up to 80 percent greater than the prior generation.
The family consists of five new models: the AT350, AT310, AR380, AR360 and AR320.
"Our latest server line provides IT managers with all the server essentials plus excellent system management tools and first-rate technical service provided by our North American call centers," said Michael O'Beirne, Acer's senior director of commercial product marketing. "We offer a wide array of easily upgradeable, highly available and energy-efficient configurations, which provide organizations a solid return on their investment."
The Acer AT350 tower servers feature a dual-socket design and two 920W 80 PLUS Platinum power supplies, making them an ideal option for eco-conscious facilities that still require a lot of processing power.
AR380 servers, meanwhile, offer similar hardware options to AT530 servers, with up to two 920W 80 PLUS hot-swappable redundant power supplies and redundant system fans, making the AR380 ideal for those seeking uninterrupted operation.
Indeed, the AR servers in the F2 generation 3 Series family of servers seem to focus on offering on greater uptime and uninterrupted computing as its main differentiating feature from similar AT-branded servers.
Lastly, the Acer AT310 servers are aimed more at small- to medium-sized businesses with Intel Xeon E3 1200 V2 processors, six expansion slots, data storage up to 8TB and up to 32GB of RAM.
