Elliptic Integrates tVault HDCP 2.1 Content Protection Solution with ViXS' XCode 4200 Media Processors

Elliptic Technologies recently announced that it has integrated its tVault HDCP 2.1 content protection technology with ViXS Solutions’, XCode 4200 Series of media processors. The resulting integration will help in securing premium content streaming over connected devices. ViXS Solutions is a provider of multimedia solutions for processing, managing, securing and distributing high quality video and audio content over digital entertainment devices.

In a release, David Jones, VP of marketing and business development of ViXS Systems, said, "Embedding Elliptic’s standards based HDCP 2.1 security technology greatly complements our XCode XC4200 family of network media processors with integrated transcoding and our position as a market leader in streaming content to mobile devices. It further enhances the customer experience by securely delivering premium content seamlessly."

To address the surge in demand for High Definition (HD) capable connected devices, multi-screen Over the Top (OTT) Pay TV as well as other services and applications, OEMs, network operators and service providers need improved security capabilities within their connected devices.

Elliptic’s tVault HDCP 2.1 security solution incorporates HDCP IIA Revision 2.1 and has been designed to address all Digital Content Protection (DCP) licensing authority mandates. The solution leverages trusted execution environments that comply with GlobalPlatform specifications and effectively integrates with ARM (News - Alert) TrustZone frameworks among others. Elliptic's tVault HDCP operates as a transmitter, receiver, or repeater device, providing optimized functioning even within limited resource environments and has been made available over embedded platforms such as Android (News - Alert).

Silicon vendors, device manufacturers and network operators can use Elliptic's highly tuned, end-to-end embedded security solutions to reduce the time to market and can securely distribute high-value digital content over different consumer electronic products.

Highlighting features of the XCode 4200 family include - Dual HD decoding; Integrated dual HD to HD transcoding; HD video encodes, decodes and transcodes up to 1080p60/50; High performance CPU framework for Application Hosting; Next-generation 3D graphics engine; Dedicated network processor for improved throughput; and Over-The-Top (OTT) video services and content support.
