Back in June 2012, Birdstep released SafeMove Mobile VPN 6.0. Significant new features include; Automatic Hotspot detection, Split tunnelling, a new roaming policy for cost savings and support for IPv6.
In other news, Birdstep announced that Sprint (News - Alert) has selected its EasySmart client to provide intelligent data traffic management for Wi-Fi and WiMAX (News - Alert). EasySmart is an intelligent client for smartphones and tablets that enables connectivity to Wi-Fi with automatic credential handling while providing customer service intelligence, secure connectivity, seamless mobility and marketing capabilities. Birdstep's solution has already rolled out to select Sprint devices, with additional rollouts planned for later this year.
