Toshiba Receives 2011 Communications Solutions Product of the Year Award from TMC

IPedge Net technology from Toshiba (News - Alert) allows users to network multiple systems together to considerably expand capacity and improve combination between decentralized locations. It integrates multiple communication applications on one optimized server platform. Standard applications include call processing, voicemail, and centralized system administration and it provides significant savings on equipment purchasing and ongoing maintenance costs.

Recently, the company’s IPedge IP business telephone system won a 2011 Communications Solutions Product of the Year Award from TMC (News - Alert), a global, integrated media company.

The Communications Solutions Product of the Year Award identifies the vision, leadership, and thoroughness that are characteristics of the prestigious award. IPedge supports various unified communication applications on a single Linux server. This includes call processing, voice mail and unified messaging, meet-me audio/video conferencing with Web collaboration, Call Manager unified communications, native SIP line and SIP trunk support.

It also includes mobility, survivability, networking with other IPedge or Strata CIX systems, centralized administration, and feature-rich telephone endpoints. Users can also make use of add-on applications, uMobility Fixed Mobile Convergence (News - Alert) (FMC) and Contact Center solutions, which are available with additional servers, the company stated in a press release.

Recently, the company announced its Windows 8-optimized Ultrabook systems and new Satellite S955 laptops. To provide everyday entertainment and productivity in highly portable form factors, The Satellite U845W and new Satellite U945 Ultrabook systems pair Intel's (News - Alert) latest mobile technologies with Toshiba's unique hardware designs. While continuing to deliver smart performance and sensational styling, the new Satellite S955 laptop is about 35 percent thinner than the previous generation.
