OWC Expands OWC Mercury Elite Pro Mini Line

Other World Computing’s Mercury Elite Pro Mini Line is created from the award winning lineage of the desktop sized Mercury Elite Pro. It provides the highest quality drive mechanism and super-quiet fanless operation and is a shock resistant portable 2.5" aluminum enclosure that provides an A/V, digital photography, professional music, graphics, general data, and time machine ready storage solution.

Recently, the company announced the expansion of its OWC Mercury Elite Pro mini line. It now provides 33 percent more capacity to a new maximum of 2TB storage capacity.

The Mercury Elite Pro mini can now be purchased in 14 different hard drive or OWC Mercury SSD-equipped configurations that provide up to 600MB/s data rate storage/backup performance to Mac and PC users in a Plug and Play mobile footprint, as it is the industry’s only ‘Quad Interface’ (FireWire 800/400, USB 2.0, and eSATA) or ‘Combo Interface’ (eSATA 6G and USB 3.0) bus-powered portable drive. It also provides portable storage capacity up to 2TB.

“Now the Mercury Elite Pro mini offers even more choices, bringing a whopping 2TB of capacity for the perfect mix of speed, portability and capacity in one award-winning external solution,” said Larry O’Connor, founder and CEO, Other World Computing.

Adding, “With 14 different configurations offering capacity and drive type choices, there’s an Elite Pro mini model for any particular need and/or budget.”

The company recently announced the OWC Mercury Helios PCIe Thunderbolt Expansion Chassis for using half-length professional-level PCIe 2.0 adapter cards with Mac mini, iMac, MacBook Air, MacBook Pro, and other Thunderbolt-equipped computers.

This allows more users to use the power of PCIe and Thunderbolt Desktop workstations used to be the only way computer users could access high-performance PCIe cards made for video capture/editing, media transcoding, audio processing, and data storage.
