Palo Alto (News - Alert) Networks announced that ICSA Labs has certified its PA-500, PA-2000 and PA-4000 firewall solutions. The next-gen firewall series solutions passed the ICSA Labs Modular Firewall Product Certification Criteria version 4.1x developed for general purpose network firewalls and corporate category.
ICSA Labs stated that it tests firewall products against a standard and evolving set of criteria and its Firewall Product Certification Criteria is composed of both functional and assurance requirements. Altogether, these criteria requirements define an industry-accepted standard that all products claiming to have firewalling capabilities must attain. The version 4.1x reflects the different functional requirements in today’s multi-segmented firewall market.
“Products under test at ICSA Labs must stand up to rigorous testing environments that our engineers have designed to replicate real-world enterprise networks. By meeting our corporate category certification requirements, Palo Alto Networks next-generation firewalls have demonstrated the ability to meet ICSA Labs' stringent security standards and also deliver strong risk-reducing security protections”, commented Brian Monkman, perimeter security programs manager at ICSA Labs, in a statement.
Palo Alto Networks explained that it has built a next-generation firewall with several innovative technologies enabling organizations to fix the firewall. These technologies bring business-relevant elements such as applications, users, and content under policy control on a high performance firewall architecture. The company’s Next-Generation Firewall (NGFW) delivers visibility and control over application, users, and content within the firewall using a proprietary hardware and software architecture.
Palo Alto added that the ICSA Labs certification reinforces the company’s commitment to delivering continuous innovation in the next-generation firewall platform to its customers. As they evaluate their own network risk posture, it remains a constant in providing safe and secure enablement of network applications.
