Onset Technology offers mobile messaging solutions to organizations requiring mission-critical emergency communications. The company’s OnPage mobile app converts iOS, BlackBerry, and Android (News - Alert) smartphones into secure digital pagers, supported by an enterprise-grade messaging and paging platform.
The pager is a critical equipment in any hospital. Hospital staff generally use the pager to call doctors in both emergency and non-emergency situations. But, this technology is cost prohibitive and outdated. However with the OnPage app, the hospital is able to power an extremely reliable communication channel between operators who send messages and physicians and other staff who receive them.
Dave Cote, manager of Telecom and Network Engineering at the hospital said in a statement, “With OnPage, our hospital and its call center have received highest level of reliability. I have not had one issue with operators sending messages, or physicians and other staff receiving them.”
In order to optimize communications, accountability and reliability in its facility, the hospital is fast replacing its pagers with OnPage which converts any iPhone, BlackBerry (News - Alert), or Android device into a communications system.
“OnPage gives us the same features that we depended on with our traditional pagers, but does so much more. OnPage adds functionality to the pager with its delivery confirmation notifications, security with its SSL encryptions, and all at a price that is the same as a traditional pager, minus the expensive monthly fee,” Cote added.
The next generation app enables doctors at Saint Francis to no longer be forced to carry multiple devices, while the hospital can be assured that all messages are sent and received. Doctors can use their smartphones and be sure of receiving all messages immediately. Also, security is confirmed as all message are encrypted to ensure HIPAA compliance.
Onset Technology’s OnPage has been widely adopted and is now being used in more than 1,000 organizations, encompassing healthcare, emergency services, information technology, financial institutions, the legal profession, and government agencies.
Recently, Lee County Southwest Florida EMS has started using the OnPage app as a communication tool due to its paging, SMS and e-mailing capabilities.
