Xerox asserted that its newly released Xerox DocuMate 4830 scanner features A3-sized flatbed and automatic document feeder that can perform fast and accurate scans of large different-sized documents at the rate of 30 pages per minute and 60 images per minute.
The DocuMate 4830 was designed for SMBs and large enterprises that wanted to scan documents and store them to a content management solution or to a storage system in a single step.
“The DocuMate 4830 was designed for users who need the versatility of A3 scanning with a flatbed and automatic document feeder, but don't have the throughput needs to justify a pricier model with production level speeds that a service bureau might use,” said John Capurso, president and COO at Visioneer, a Xerox licensing partner. “It also increases the security and control of paper document and ID card capture for markets like the healthcare industry.”
The company stated that the DocuMate 4830 offers an attractive price, outstanding performance and exceptional reliability for corporate workgroups and departments, and small- or medium-sized businesses (SMB).
The software available with the scanner contains certified TWAIN, ISIS and WIA drivers to enable communication with hundreds of enterprise content management (ECM) and document image management (DIM) software solutions.
Notable features of DocuMate 4830 include 30 ppm in simplex and 60 ipm in duplex; the ability to scan large documents via the 11" x 17" (A3) flatbed or through ADF; ultrasonic double feed detection; affordable A3 scanner for moderate daily throughput; one-touch scanning to any of nine destinations; the conversion of documents into searchable PDF files; automatic image enhancement tools without the need of user intervention; and more.
The Xerox DocuMate 4830 is priced at $2,495, and is available immediately through online channel partners, VARs and major resellers.
